More than 300 individuals participated in Dot Foods' first hiring fair for its Delaware facility on Saturday, August 17. Two others were scheduled for later in the week.
To prepare for the opening of its Bear, Delaware, distribution center (DC) in early 2020, Dot will hire more than 100 employees in the coming weeks. Positions range from warehouse material handlers to CDL-A truck drivers to office roles; in all, there are 30 different job types available.
"We are excited to find the best talent in the region to join the Dot Foods family here in Delaware," said General Manager Joe Little. "Dot is committed to putting the right team in place at all our locations. Our employees are our most valuable resource, and we pride ourselves on offering great, high-paying career options with a company culture that is unmatched."
Dot's two additional hiring events this month were held at the Route 9 Library & Innovation Center in New Castle on:
Tuesday, August 20 from 4-8 p.m.
Wednesday, August 21 from 4-8 p.m.
Applicants had the opportunity to meet the Dot Foods Delaware leadership team, learn more about the new facility and the company itself, and complete an on-site interview.
Dot Foods Delaware's new employees will begin work between September 2019 and early 2020 depending on job type.
The Delaware DC will be located at 301 American Boulevard in Bear. Construction is still underway on the 188,000-square-foot facility. The company plans to celebrate its grand opening in early 2020.
