Dot Foods Oklahoma employees and their family members now have convenient access to Dot Foods-provided health care facility, which was designed especially for them.
The high-quality, low-cost Dot Foods Oklahoma Family Health Center is located at 404 S. Commerce Street, about three miles from Dot's distribution center in Ardmore. Its services are available to all employees and their family members covered by Dot's health plan.
The company, its employees, and community members celebrated the grand opening in late September.
"At Dot, you hear us talk a lot about family," said Rob Hendry, general manager of Dot Foods Oklahoma. "And when you join our company, you and your family become part of the Dot family. That type of commitment to our people is what leads us to consider adding on-site or near-site health care facilities several years ago. We opened the first one in 2012 and have been adding them to more Dot locations ever since."
Premise Health will operate the facility, which includes a reception area, office, lab, exam room, and drug screening area.
Patients can receive a variety of health care services at the Family Health Center, including condition management and education for high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, and more. Annual physicals, wellness screenings, CDL certification, lab work, flu vaccines, and occupational therapy services will also be offered at little or no cost to employees.
"The health of our employees and their families is of the highest importance to us," said Matt Holt, Dot Foods' vice president of human resources. "We want to remove any barriers to receiving high-quality medical care and ensure that care is convenient."
Many of Dot's employees work non-traditional schedules, such as drivers and warehouse employees. The Family Health Center will help those employees and their families access appointments while saving money on their health care costs.
"Many standard services are free at the Family Health Center," Holt added. "When there is a cost associated, it's typically low, and employees can opt to use money from their Health Savings Account or payroll deduction."
The Dot Foods Oklahoma Family Health Center began seeing patients a few weeks ago. It is the fourth Family Health Center Dot has established at or near its distribution centers. The facility is currently open three days a week with the option to add more hours based on need.
Dot Foods plans to set up Family Health Care centers at its remaining eight locations by 2025.
