MT.STERLING, Ill - Keeping in line with growing customer demand, Dot Foods, the nation's largest food redistributor, is growing their dessert offering through a partnership with The Original Cakerie to offer its lineup of super-size layer cakes, single-layer dessert cakes, dessert bars, and variety packs. Dot begins shipment of The Original Cakerie products September 3, 2012.
"This is a big supplier for us to bring on," said Jeff Adams, senior business development manager at Dot Foods. "The Original Cakerie is a quality brand and product, and we will be the sole distribution source for them in the foodservice sector."
All foodservice sales of The Original Cakerie products will now go exclusively through Dot Foods. At the same time, Dot will offer the products to all of its other channels. Customers can now order as little as one case of The Original Cakerie products within their Dot order, rather than having to meet the 1,000 pound minimum of a direct order.
"The decision to partner with Dot didn't weigh on our minds long," said Greg Hickey, director of sales at The Original Cakerie. "Having their sales and support people selling our product can only increase our competitive edge."
