MODESTO, Calif. - Dot Foods, the nation's largest food industry redistributor, is proud to announce the promotion of David Bigelow to assistant general manager and Gabe Tanner to director of transportation of the company's California distribution center in Modesto. West Region General Manager Rich Raham made the announcement.
"David and Gabe have already shown what great assets they are to our Modesto team in their previous roles," Raham said. "I know they have a lot to contribute and will continue to do so as they take on new responsibilities in their new positions."
Bigelow is a Modesto native who joined the Dot Foods family in 2007 as an operations supervisor. Two years later he was promoted to director of transportation for the California distribution center, a position he held until becoming assistant general manager in 2014. As assistant general manager he oversees the transportation arm of the business at the California facility and the management trainee program, and also contributes to a number of company-wide projects.
"I really enjoy that this role allows me to be involved with the business on a big-picture level," Bigelow said. "I spent the last five years on the transportation side of Dot, and it's a lot of fun to now work with and get to know more people in other areas of the company.
Tanner started his career with Dot in 2013 as an operations supervisor, before accepting his new position leading the California transportation team in November 2014. He grew up in the Modesto area but prior to coming to Dot worked in hotel management in Texas.
Tanner and his wife Sarah, live in Denair, California, with their young son, John.
