Dot Foods, Inc. strives to create event experiences that are welcoming, positive, safe, and respectful to all participants. Event environments are designed to promote collaboration, creativity, innovation, and idea exchange. Dot Foods, Inc. will not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or other inappropriate behavior in any form. This Code of Conduct applies to all attendees, employees, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, guests, and other participants at Dot Foods sponsored events.
Expected Behavior
Be considerate, respectful and follow common courtesy rules for personal interaction. Be aware of your surroundings and mindful of others around you. Refrain from displaying demeaning, harassing, aggressive, or intimidating materials or behavior. Dress and behave in a professional manner. Do not damage private or communal property. Be supportive of other participants and encourage safe practices. Follow all event, and applicable venue and local rules and regulations.
Prohibited Behavior
Harassing and discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated. Harassment includes all forms of offensive or unwanted physical or verbal attention. Examples of harassment include, but are not limited to derogatory jokes, slurs, insults, or name-calling; the use of sexual images; deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following; harassing photography or recordings; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; unwelcome sexual attention, touching, flirtation, or other threatening conduct. Discriminatory conduct includes treating an individual differently because of race, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, national origin, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
Inappropriate behavior can take many forms such as: disorderly conduct caused by inebriation, slurs; derogatory statements; foul or obscene language; offensive clothing; nudity; stalking; gesturing; violating personal space by impeding or blocking another person's movement or otherwise physically interfering with them; harassing photography or recordings; offensive email or voicemail messages; or social media postings.
Reporting inappropriate behavior
Dot maintains an anonymous reporting system that allows employees, visitors, and guests to report various incidents to the CEO of Dot at any time. Incidents may include: Business Abuse, Crimes, Property Damage, Harassment, etc. The Dot Hotline number is (800) 973-9273, or reports may be made online at DotFoods.ethicspoint.com. Reports may be made in English, Spanish, or French. The Employee Hotline is available 24/7 and is staffed by an independent third party.
If you witness or are the target of inappropriate behavior or language or other conduct violating this Code, please promptly report to The Dot Hotline and Dot will take appropriate action. Violations of law should immediately be reported to local authorities.
Consequences
If a participant engages in harassing, discriminatory or other inappropriate behavior, Dot Foods, Inc. will take appropriate steps to remedy the situation, including, but not limited to, removing the individual or content from the event, and limiting or denying participation at any future events. Dot Foods, Inc. requires anyone asked to stop unacceptable conduct to comply with the request immediately, or face immediate removal from the Dot-sponsored event.
