Mt. Sterling, Ill. - Dot Foods, one of the area's largest employers, today officially joined the U.S. Army's Partnership for Youth Success (PaYs) Program, a strategic partnership between the U.S. Army and corporate America.  The program provides America's youth with an opportunity to serve their country while they prepare for their future.  The Army agrees to pre-qualify, train, and provide honorably discharged veterans with valuable skills.  Partner companies reserve future positions in exchange for trained Army veterans.  The PaYs soldier agrees to fulfill their Army obligation and benefits with future hiring preference within the partnership company.

Nationwide PaYs partners have posted more than 152,000 jobs, including 90 posted at Dot Foods and Dot Transportation, Inc.  Already more than 40 returning active duty soldiers have requested interviews at Dot Foods or DTI.

"There are many parallels between Dot Foods and the U.S. Army - we both value quality employees," said Captain Daniel L. Kosters, Commander of the U.S. Army Springfield Recruiting Company.  "Our soldiers leave the Army as exceptionally skilled, disciplined workers and leaders, inbued with the values and character that are so vitally important to our Army, the citizens of Mt. Sterling, and our nation."

"The U.S. Army soldiers with the understanding that loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage are key to team success," said Matt Holt, Dot Foods' Human Resources Vice President.  "We look for these same values in our employees, so Dot Foods greatly benefits from access to a pool of skilled, pre-qualified applicants.  But even more so, this program aligns with Dot's commitment to several ofourcore values: integrity, sense of family, a diverse and inclusive work environment, and a caring and sharing approach to everyone we touch."

Dot Foods joins other great Illinois companies in the PaYs Program, such as Gully Transportation, Pepsi Bottling Group, AM General, Walgreens, AT&T, Wells Fargo and many others.
