MT.STERLING, Ill - Dot Foods, the nation's largest food redistributor, recently expanded their offering through a partnership with premium sun dried tomato products producer Mooney Farms. Dot will carry Mooney Farms' Bella Sun Luci brand sun-dried tomatoes, pesto sauce, risotto and olive oil, amongst other offerings. The first Dot shipment of Mooney Farms products began September 4, 2012.

For years Dot Foods has offered its distributor customers Valley Sun's sun-dried products. But, after Mooney Farms announced its acquisition of Valley Sun (VSP), Dot and Mooney Farms entered into a new partnership allowing Dot to expand its Mediterranean product offering with the Bella Sun Luci brand of premium sun dried tomato products to both retail and foodservice.

"We've been interested in a partnership with Mooney Farms for some time because they're a major player in the retail industry," said Brooke Haynes, business development manager at Dot Foods. "With their recent expansion, we now have a well-rounded offering of all Mooney Farms products."

Customers can now order as little as one case of Mooney Farms products within their Dot order, rather than having to meet required minimums of a direct order.

"When we acquired Valley Sun Products, it was an easy decision to begin a partnership with Dot," said Ray Curley, sales manager at Mooney Farms. "This move will really help us to continue our growth in foodservice, as well as in the retail channel."

About Mooney Farms

Mooney Farms began in 1987 as a family owned kiwi farming operation. Products were sold at the farmer's markets in Northern California by the family members. With the addition of sun dried tomatoes, their first sale to Price Club South San Francisco changed everything. The family's Bella Sun Luci Sun Dried Tomatoes in Olive Oil & Herbs sold out in a record 4 hours! Sun dried tomatoes had become mainstream and the Mooney Family had the winning recipe!
