Our founder Robert F. Tracy didn't set out to invent a totally new way to distribute food products, or to create a company that would become the industry leader in foodservice redistribution. Instead, from the beginning, "R.T." was motivated purely by a desire to improve his customers' business.
Fortunately, he was blessed with an innate ability to assess business situations from a fresh perspective. Instead of being content to do things the conventional way, R.T. couldn't help but envision ways to distribute products more efficiently. |
| Starting as a part-time employee at a dairy business in 1947, R.T.'s innovative approaches never ceased to impress his employers over the years. But by 1960, R.T. was bursting with so many ideas that it was clearly time to start his own company. With his wife Dorothy's blessing, the family station wagon and a 14-year-old Cessna airplane, Associated Dairy Products (later known as Dot Foods) was cleared for take-off. |

The concept R.T. originated back in 1960 is the same concept Dot operates by today: a variety of products in one delivery, with one call, one order form and one invoice. And our goal is still the same: to improve our customers' business.
