Ingredient products were the first products ever offered by Dot Foods. Dot sells food ingredients to dairies, bakeries, candy manufacturers, meat processors and other food manufacturers. Robert Tracy (R.T.), who worked for Prairie Farms Dairy at one time, founded Dot in 1960 to distribute these types of products. Dot expanded into the foodservice channel in 1980.
R.T.'s idea of helping food processors manage their business more efficiently still applies today. Purchasing smaller quantities of raw ingredients with shorter lead times helps processors better manage their production schedules. Our frequent deliveries help them minimize the amount of raw ingredients on hand, which frees up valuable space and improves cash flow. No one provides better service than Dot; food processors can also depend on us to help keep their lines moving.
