Getting Started with EDI and Dot Foods

Notify your software provider that you want to receive the 867 transaction from Dot Foods. The software provider may check to see if your system needs to be upgraded prior to receiving the data.

Once your system is set up to receive the Dot EDI data, your software provider should contact Jennifer Lonergan at 217.773.4486 ext.2420 to start the setup process.

Dot will provide you with a customer list so that you can set up the customer cross reference table. This table is needed to link the Dot customer number sent in to your EDI data with your internal customer number.

Dot uses UPC numbers as well as manufacturer's item numbers for product identification. Dot will send you the first listing of UPC numbers. After that, all UPC numbers can be obtained through the Dot Expressway.

When Dot's customer numbers are set up in your system, notify Jennifer Lonergan that you are ready to start receiving the daily data.

Once setup is complete,Jerri Ernest (Marketing Coordinator) will be your day-to-day Dot contact for non-technical issues. Jerri can be reached at 217.773.4486 ext. 2338. For EDI technical issues, contact Jennifer Lonergan at 217.773.4486 ext. 2420.

Initially, you will continue to receive emailed/faxed invoices as well as the EDI data. Three months after the start of receiving EDI, Dot will discontinue the emails/faxes.

For more information on EDI for brokers, please contact Jennifer Lonergan at Dot Foods: 800.366.3687.
